- Gardener;
- Person employed by a household as a driver of a motor vehicle;
- A person who takes care of the children, the aged, the sick, the frail or disabled; and
- Does NOT include a farm worker or a person performing domestic work in a home on a farm.

There is much more that just UIF registration to be legally compliant.
You need to:
- Register as employer for UIF purposes
- Register your employees for UIF
- Have an employment contract for each employee (in accordance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act)
- Keep a leave register
- Provide a payslip every month/week
- Keep records for each employee
- Have a disciplinary procedure and code
- Provide a Certificate of Service on termination of service

What you need to do regarding UIF
| 1. | You need to register at the Commissioner as an employer and you need to register your employee(s) that works for or more than 24 hours a month (one day a week). |
| 2. | These forms are available at the Dept. of Labour or you can get all of it automated if you join our service. |
| 3. | Unemployment Insurance Fund payments, in a case where you are just the employer of a domestic worker(s) is paid to the Commissioner every month before the 7th. |
| 4. | The employer's contribution is 1% of total earnings (wages including allowances and payment in kind e.g. Accommodation) The employee must also contribute 1% of total earnings. The payslip(s) must indicate this deduction. |
